Opal of the Green Horns

Opal has been enjoying the lovely pasture like all of us...kind of.

She enjoyed a lovely scritch between the horns.

Then she tried scratching with some weeds.

It didn't work so well.

But her horns are a lovely green now.

Scritchin' Bliss

Vinnie found a good place to scratch her face, but Opal found scritchin' bliss.

That chunk of concrete is just her size~short.

She can use it to scratch her face.

She can rub against it.

Opal! Didn't anyone teach you any manners?

You don't scratch your butt in public.

Oh, how embarrassing.

But she does look like that was bliss.

Cute Couples

Well, we've got more hormones going around here. Miss Opal is playing hard to get with Marley.

I think they make an interesting couple. Good thing there's a fence between them!

The other young couple is Litha and Boeris.

He was singing her love songs.

They are enjoying dinner.

Later they are going dancing~the rhumba!

Linking to Farmgirl Friday.

A Mini Advantage

Opal thinks she doesn't get enough to eat. So look what she does.

Suppose she'll get her head out?

That's the advantage of a little head. She doesn't get stuck.

And as long as you've already got your head sideways, you might as well use the horns for a good scratch with the horns.

Silly Opal.

The Fat Farm

The human might need to section off an area of the farm for a couple of girls. She'd have to call it "The Fat Farm."

So far, Opal will be a good contestant.

Nom, nom, yum, yum.

Lily might have to go there too.

She wouldn't have to feed them, and she might add a wild dog to chase them around.

Why are you looking at me like that? I'm just eating.

Really, they do need to go on a diet.

Spoiled

It certainly looks like these four were spoiled by someone~Claire~before they came to live with us.
I thought they were going to try to climb through the little holes in the fence to get to that food.

You'd think they weren't getting fed around here.

They certainly don't look like they're starving.

What's that silly human doing giving them treats?

Where's my treat?

You Call That a Treat!

Those things are bright and colorful and pretty!

I was enjoying a nap in the barn when the human brought one out to me.

I was excited to have a nice tasty treat.

Yuck! That's what I think of that pepper.

If you think I'm being picky, it wasn't just me.

Coffee didn't want it.

Opal wouldn't eat it, and she's a food-a-holic.

Dolly turned her nose up at it.

Lotus said, "No way!"

Not even Cutie would try it.

She can take those peppers and try to find some other goat to eat them. We don't want them, but I would like a real treat. Please...

Edit: Pricilla was kind enough to point out that we wouldn't eat those peppers because they belong to the nightshade family, and they are very bad for us. Stupid human. All of you other humans now know not to feed your goats peppers.

A Rainy Morning

It was a rainy morning.

Opal thought there was nothing better to do on a rainy morning than sleep in.
