Shocking!

Look at that poor llama begging for a drink of water. We all feel his pain. We've all been getting shocked when we drink from that nice blue cattle tank. We are not happy about this. The human did at least give us water in the green tub.

The human did have her nephew and his dad come look at it, and they did do some work. Then she tried telling us it was fine. She FORCED me to put my mouth on it. I was going to put my horns (cast and all) through her gut if she tried that again. Then she dumped it out. The llama was trying to let her know that was not acceptable.

Do you know how much it hurts to get your tongue and lips shocked???? It knocked poor Lucy Goosey on her butt. I know I don't speak highly of the geese, but when she tried to get a drink and it knocked her back, who wouldn't feel sorry for her. The human refilled the green tub, and her dad came the next day to look at the cattle tank.

She got home and dumped the tub to try and make us drink from that tank again. Sure, like we're going to believe her that it's safe. The geese weren't happy about the tub being dumped either.

Finally, we refused to drink long enough that it was getting dark and she refilled the tub.

We all wanted drinks.

Those geese were waiting for us to leave.

Finally, they all got a drink too.

I hope she really gets this thing fixed even though we do not plan on trying it out again.

All of us in the barnyard are showing a rare solidarity and we've decided the human gets to stick her tongue in that thing to "test it".

Three Generations

Family Portrait

Meg wanted a family portrait with her and her two youngest daughters. The human tried, but she couldn't get everyone to keep their mouths shut and quit chewing their cuds. Here Velvet has her mouth open.

Now Fancy has her mouth open. And what's with that weird look?
Finally, they all just started chewing their cuds and told the human she wasn't fast enough.
No nice family portrait for her Christmas cards this year!

Another One Gone

The human saw Scarlet doing this. She took a picture mumbling about how silly that was.

Just hooking her horn through the fence and pulling.

She wasn't saying silly (or anything else I can repeat) when she realized Scarlet was just practicing for hooking collars!

Now Dolly is collarless. Does she look like a stray without her collar?

Cattle Tank

I must say we are happy to have a heated tank to drink from.

Our snow might be gone, but it is still very cold out, and we like to have plenty of water to drink.
Unfortunately, this is what our tank looked like. It was getting ice on top of it.

We finally got the human to work on the tank today, and she thinks she has it fixed so we don't have to worry about the ice on top of the water.

Now, if we could just get her to do something with those geese playing in the tank and making ice on the concrete.

Darn geese.

First Snow

It's our first snow!

Stormy and Vesta stand south of the barn to stay out of the wind.

Luckily, it was just a dusting. Hopefully, it won't last too long.

Kizzy's Goat Yoga

I looked at Kizzy and she looked a bit funny.

Then she did this.

And this.

Ah, yes. Goat yoga! Stretching and striking poses to improve physical and mental health and gain insight and wisdom.

She's trying to teach daughter Dana how to do goat yoga.

Dana seems more interested in scratching than her mom's yoga talent.

I don't think she's getting it. She just wasn't following with Mom.

Daughter Dixie is doing better--it's mother and daughter synchronized yoga!

They might need to keep practicing a little.
