Going to Her Head

I love my twin sister Minnie.

But I think her position as herd queen is going to her head.

Literally.

Even if she weren't our herd queen, I'd love her, but I think the tiara might be a bit much.

A Word of Warning

Lily was enjoying some scrubby old cedar trees to scratch between her horns.

Minnie warned her to be careful.

If you get too close to a rose bush, it will be painful.

Don't worry, the scratch above Minnie's eye is healing quite nicely.  She's taking her own advice and avoiding rose bushes.

Three Billy Goats Gruff (Part I)

Once upon a time, a very very long time ago, way before color even, there was a herd of goats that lived on a hilly pasture.

One summer there was a very bad drought, and they ate all the grass from their hill.

In this herd there happened to be three brothers.  A little billy goat named Myson.

Myson

A middle billy goat named Bud.

Bud

And a big billy goat named Minnie Pearl.  Really~see the beard.

Minnie Pearl

These three brothers had a great idea to cross the ditch and eat on the next hill over.

Minnie and Joe

"You can't do that," Joe warned.

Vixen

"The nasty old troll that lives under the bridge will eat you." said Vixen.

Nasty old Troll
"Nonsense," said Myson.

"Horsefeathers," said Bud.

"Just let him try," said Minnie Pearl and off they went.

The other goats tried to talk them out of going, but Myson and Bud and Minnie Pearl were three billy goats on a mission.

Tune in tomorrow to see if our three brothers make it safely to the other hill.

A Yard Goat No More

I am no longer a yard goat.

I'm a driveway goat!

There's so much wonderful stuff to eat out there.

Yummy!!!

Minnie Pearl was awfully jealous, but I don't care.

Do you think I can eat it all?

I'm going to try!

The Scratching Tree

I found a little dead tree that was perfect for scratching between the horns.

That's an impossible place for a goat to reach herself, you know.

Then my twin sister, Minnie, just had to come and butt her way in.

Really, can't a girl even scratch?

Then Minnie had the audacity to sniff and see if I left cooties on the tree.

Really, does she think we're little kids??????

I hope she at least enjoyed her little scratch.

Sisters!

Happy Birthday to Me!

Yep, it's the day we celebrate my birthday!

Although I must say I was not happy that I had to have Dr. Hickman come see me today. The human is such a worrier, especially since I'm four months pregnat. I have a bit of evening cough because of our warm wet evenings.

I'm fine really. I certainly did not deserve the rude exam I received. Harumph! I did get a peanut though. I did last night too.

It's also the day we celebrate my twin sister Minnie's birthday.

She was enjoying the peanut treats too.

Cutie also gets to celebrate her birthday with us.

See we weren't born on the farm, so we don't know the exact day we were born. We all celebrate on February 1.

We all turned eight-years-old. Even Meg.

She wasn't happy to see Dr. Hickman either because he chopped and picked at her sore hoof. It's back to a bit of hoof rot.

(Don't tell her, but I heard the human say she was going to do more garlic treatments and put the boot back on before our bad weather this weekend).
