Back in Pasture

First of all, my stupid human won't give me computer time.  I told her she should just get me my own and then I wouldn't have such a hard time getting to use it.  She said, "No computers in the barn."  So sorry for not posting.

But look!  We're back out in the pasture.  I'm so happy to just look at my whole herd and enjoy myself out there.  It will be even better when the grass is all green.

Pasture

It's been cold and snowy, but we're still going out to pasture.  The ox won't let the human shut the gate on us. (We're starting to like the ox.)

It's hard work, but we can find  a little bit to eat.

Perfect Pasture Weather

We have had some really nice weather to melt away that awful snow.  It's been perfect to go out and browse!

If only we could keep this nice weather for a little bit longer, but my old bones say there's a change on the way.

Happy Boys

The human made all three of our "big boys" happy.  Boeris has six girls with him.

Love is definitely in the air!

Fionn got all of these girls.

He got these girls too.  He's got nineteen girls with him!

Marley got to come out to pasture with us.

He's never been in the Back Forty before, so I let him follow with me.

He's pretty happy to be out here.

The Human's Home

We're spending a lot of time out in the pasture eating as much yummy grass as possible before winter comes.

Rosé

Suddenly, we'll hear those noisy honking geese and that's our signal that the human is home.

Time for our grain!

Picture Perfect Weekend

This weekend was positively perfect.

The weather wasn't too hot or too cold.

The human even came out to pasture and spent some time with us.

There's nothing better than laying in the soft grass under the tree getting scratched between the horns.

Runaround Sue

Sue is another one of the kids that had never come to pasture with her maa.

She seems to be enjoying herself.

It's not as easy to eat a leaf on the run as you might think.

She's going to be an expert at it quite soon!

Noisy Change

You might remember that some does were not taking their kids to pasture.  Instead, they were leaving them with the bucks.  Well, the human said the bucks were no longer good responsible guys to be leaving the little girls in their care.  So she brought in some noisy machines

and some nice nephews, and they changed the fence.

Now those little does can't go in with with daddy goats.

They've joined us out in the big pasture.

Green

I guess I am not so upset about the rain last week.

We have green pasture again!

Lunch on the Go

It looks like Kizzy's kids ordered lunch to go.

Here's lunch,

and there they all go!

Just Because I'm a Nanny

It doesn't mean this doe wants to be looking after kids all the time.  Last night it was Cupid.  Tonight it was Cupid and Little Bit!

Little Bit got left behind when his maa, Kizzy, went to pasture, so the human wanted me to take him out with Cupid.

Those two kept wanting to stop, and I had to keep them moving to go all the way to the back hill where the rest of the herd was browsing.

He did finally find his maa.

No chance of him getting lost now that he's found the right udder to follow.

I might have to put my hoof down if that human thinks I'm going to keep doing this just because I'm a nanny.
