Rain Delay

I haven't been able to post the last few days because my blog photographer (aka the human) wouldn't bring her camera out in the rain.

We're still muddy, but I told her I had to post.

Melting

We're positively melting.

Dolly can't even manage to smile for the camera.

Look what those geese do to stay cool.  Yes, the stinking human really has that many geese here (plus Lucy who wasn't at the party).

They hover around not only their pool, but our drinking water too!  Dang geese!

Evidence of Evil

I tell you the geese are evil.

Now I have evidence.

Penny was just going to get a drink from the bucket the human filled for us.

Look at that!

Pure evil!

Unbearable

Are you listening to me Ms. Mother Nature?

We've had it with snow and melt and snow and melt.

The geese can practically swim through the barnyard.

Granted the barn is a little better, and the human is trying to bed it down and feed us in dry places,

but she's having a hard time finding someplace dry to feed. us.

Yuck!

It's raining.  The barnyard is a muddy mess.

Even the geese are trying to stay out of the mud.

Now it's getting foggy.

The human says we're supposed to get more snow.  Oh dear...

Geese Like Water

If you didn't know, geese like water.  They do.  If they see the tiniest little bit of water, they are trying to take a bath in it.

The human went down to see if there was actually any water in the old bathing hole.  Not much water at all.

They act like they thought the human was going to eat them.

Here's a video from a couple of years ago when there was actually water.

Silly geese!

Happy

Those goofy geese get awfully excited when they see the human.  They even jump for joy!

They really like to steal our grain, and they know it's dinner time when she comes out to see us.

I Might Have to Strike Again

I know rain makes the grass grow and yadda yadda, but this is just wrong.

I can't believe she would expect us to eat out of a pan that looks like this.

Granted, most of them aren't quite that bad, but still...

It's the geese.  They play in the pans as soon as there's a drop of water in them.  Look at those webbed foot prints.

They are positively wallowing in happiness with the wet.

 Dang geese.  Dang mud.

Still Working

I'm still working on helping the human clear the fencerow.

I can't believe she lets it get this bad.

I'm working as hard as I can,

but I can't get caught up.

I think she should let me out her way more frequently.

I can't say that I was enjoying my company.

Next time, I hope she keeps those darn geese in the barnyard.

It's Hot

I'm not a complaining kind of goat.

I really hate to complain, but it is very hot.

See.  I have proof.  And that is in the shade.  Look how hot it is in the sun.

We don't know because the human was afraid the thermometer was going to break.  It was even too hot for the geese, and they don't mind hot weather.

They were all panting.

This one was sitting on her nest, but the other one knew it was hot enough to incubate her eggs without sitting on them.

They just sit in the pools of what is supposed to be clean goat water all day long!

We really need it to cool down.  I'd even be happy with some rain if it cooled us off.

Complaining

I'm probably going to be complaining a lot.  The human gave us clean water in the tub.

Yep~that's our clean water.

I can't believe I have to put up with this.

Look at the pitiful pile of hay she gives me.

Look at their hay.

Yep, I'm going to be complaining quite a bit until I get to go out in the pasture and feast on that green stuff.  You have been warned.
