Feast

Since I'm shut up north, my girl Joe has to keep me updated on what is going on. She's very good at keeping an eye on what the human is doing.

With the rain, sleet, freezing rain, and high winds today, the human gave everyone hay, not just me and Bambi (and Muffin).

She put a lot of tubs in the part of the barn where the cows were before.

She has tubs in where we always had.

She has tubs in the old greenhouse.

She has a tub in the Love Shack.

That was not good enough for Dana and Dixie. The human thought they were lost and went searching for them. Guess where Joe said she found them. They were having their own Thanksgiving feast!

Look at that--on the big mountain of hay where we're not supposed to go.

And do they look the least bit remorseful?

Well, I hope your Thanksgiving is as bountiful as Dana and Dixie's!

Fashion Show

We all want to show off our fancy new winter coats. It's a good thing we have them because it was about 15 degrees this morning. Brrrr.

First one to walk the runway is Kizzy. She is sporting a Boer double coat that gets curly, almost as curly as her tail.

Our first mother-daughter pair is Pebbles in the back and Sugar in front. At eight-months, Sugar is almost as big as her mom. No wonder--she is my granddaughter, and I have big babies. Her dad is Goliath--need I say more.
Pam is cute as always. She wears her misshapen horn proudly as a symbol that physical shape has nothing to do with inner beauty. Just ask her. She truly is a Princess.
Helen shows just how cold it is by the whisps of breath you see. Her fuzzy coat will certainly keep her warm!

Twins Vixen and Angel sport twin coats--one in white; the other tan.

Annie shows that not only is a fuzzy roan coat good, but an extra layer of fat doesn't hurt either!

Our other mother daughter pair is Meg and Fancy. Dainty and feminine is the fashion here. Wattles complete their ensemble.

Sadie shows the beauty of contrast with her black and white.

Finally, Flower demonstrates the beauty of simple and elegant white.

What are the winter goat fashions like in your neck of the woods?

Make Up Your Mind

I do believe the human is confused. She has me shut in so that I can eat and eat and eat and gain weight and get ready for winter. See the fuzzy coat I'm growing.

Now she wants me to share with Muffin????

I don't think I can do both. I can't share the hay and shelter with Muffin. Doesn't my Bambi need a tub of hay all to herself too? I need privacy for my daughter and me. I'm just trying to make sure my baby has enough to eat.

Now, that human is threatening to kick me out of the nice warm shelter because something about Muffin being more thin than me.

Make up your mind!

Trespassers

The human went out to the back forty for the first time in a while. Nobody is back there, but she said she wanted to go check on things. Well, she found trespassers. Look who was in my pasture!

I can't believe she just stood there and watched them. I'd have watched Cutie butt them right out of there.

Eye Spy

Look what I see next to me. It's all blue and green.

Eyes--he's growing eyes on his new tail feathers. And from the side, it has all those other colors.

I bet he'll be very handsome when they get grown out for next spring. He might be noisy, but he is beautiful.

Millie as Elinor Dashwood

My dear blogging friend, Isobelle Golightly took a quiz and found out which Jane Austin character she would be. I decided to humor my friend, and I took the quiz also. Turns out I would be Elinor Dashwood. She is practical and sensible with an emotional side that only a few get to see. Does that sound like me?

Elinor Dashwood!

Marley was not too happy when he found out that there wasn't a quiz for Jane Austin heroes. He really thought he'd be a perfect hero for Marianne Dashwood. Finally, I convinced him to take the silly quiz. Turns out he is the passionate Catherine Morland.

Catherine Morland!

I guess I can see that. After all, he does have the curls.

A Coup?

I've heard the human and Betty Lou chatting. They seem to be trying to work out an agreement for Betty Lou to be the next milking nanny at Eden Hills.

What do you think--am I being replaced?
