Retirement

Does this look like retirement?

After raising a kid, being sick and recovering, I am now being milked again.

You'd think that human could at least milk me in a timely manner

or at least get me computer access to do a blog post in a timely manner.

Jack

Jack was fighting with Marley. It wasn't smart since Marley's horns are tougher than Jack's polled noggin.
His fur is starting to grow back, but I'm afraid he'll be frostbit before long. Silly goat.

I'm thinking of asking the human to shear the llama and let me try my hand at knitting.

My retirement plan!

It's Warm

It's warm here.

In fact, I'm feeling in heat.

The human won't let me through the fence to see the boys, because I'm retired.

I'm not sure I like this being retired right now.

It's nice to know that I haven't lost my touch with the guys even though I'm retired.

I've still got it!

A Coup?

I've heard the human and Betty Lou chatting. They seem to be trying to work out an agreement for Betty Lou to be the next milking nanny at Eden Hills.

What do you think--am I being replaced?

Minnie Pearl

Minnie Pearl is my twin sister. She was born to be a milking nanny. Now, she's the head of the herd since she knocked Cutie down a notch. I'm proud of my twin because she's really found her groove!

Minnie was born to be a milking nanny, but she was horribly neurotic as a mother. As soon as she'd go into labor, she'd scream and yell and make the human sit there and hold her hoof. The first time, the human was worried and she even called the vet. When he arrived, he promptly told the human that she and Minnie were both being big babies. Okay, he said it much nicer. That's what I would have told the human if she had asked me.

She has improved over the years, but last time she even had the human's mom out there. She let her lick the whipped cream off her strawberry shortcake. Honestly, I should act like a big baby and see what it gets me.

Anyhow, Minnie retired because her stomach muscles are starting to sag and her back and feet were aching. Wow! Her coat is thick and glossy and I must say, she's almost a bit chubby. Retirement has been good for her. She just can't get over the not being a milking nanny. What's she do? She starts lactating just so she can be a milking nanny (true story of the power of positive thinking).

She's really doing a whiz bang job of taking care of the herd. When the human led me out to pasture tonight (yes, I make her because my back and feet ache and she should give me hay),

Minnie helped her bring Angel and Vixen out to pasture. Their mom Cutie left them behind.

Then she hung out with Bud and Flower and coaxed them into pasture with the goats (not the human) for the first time ever. That's my twin sister, Minnie Pearl.
