Special Jay

We have a very special blue jay living here. If we're not careful, the human will have it named before long. The little bird has an injured wing.

It can't fly. That only slows it down a little bit. It goes all the way to the ground and back up into the top of the magnolia tree by little hops.

It wraps those toes around the fence. It jumps down to the post and walks across the well house.

Then it's another short hop up into the magnolia tree.

The little bird gets around in the tree the same way.

Jay (oops, did I just name the bird?) has been around here injured like this for about three weeks. We just hope Jay is able to avoid this...

I'm joining Farmgirl Friday with Deborah Jean's Dandelion House.

Oh! The male person had a blue jay that his mother cared for when he was a boy.

Oh no! I wonder if Jay will ever heal. It's amazing that he's lasted this long with an injured wing with farm cats about!

I love blue jays and don't like cats, so I like this post!

What is the status on this little guy?

Jay is still hopping around out here. Actually does a little bit of fluttering with his hopping. Maybe the wing is very, very slowly getting better?
