Pistol Has Twins!

Pistol had twin does the other evening.

She's pretty pleased with her kids.  I think she should be.

Backsnacking

Pistol and her girls were all enjoying a bit of hay together.

Then Clover decided to do some backsnacking from her sister.

For the life of me, I can't remember who first used that phrase backsnacking.

I can't get my lazy human to go back through every single blog post and its comments to see who it was.

If you were the one, let me know!

Poor Pistol

Poor Pistol.  It's bad enough for all of us that it rained all morning.

But poor Pistol came into heat.

She still out there in the rain again tonight.

Pistol Has an Itch

Pistol has an itch in that hard-to-reach spot between the horns.  See how she manages to scratch.

Yep, she uses daughter Clover's horn.

Don't you judge me.  It itches.
It's good to have your daughters around to help you out.

Where Pistol's Twins Sleep

Can you guess where Pistol puts her kids to sleep?

Does this help?

Yep, she puts them in the tree to take their naps.

They do look kind of cozy though.

Back and Forth

When we had our snow over the weekend, the human brought Coral and Clover back into the main barnyard to be with their mom, Pistol.

They were huddled outside and the human was afraid they were going to get cold. I think Pistol was happy to see Coral.

Clover was also happy to be out there with her maaa. She tried to nurse her maaa!

The next day, the human put them back into their pen with the other young girls and Fionn.

She wanted to make sure they got plenty to eat.

Yep, food is good!

I Saw That

Pistol and her daughters, Coral and Clover, certainly have the snuggling to stay warm down pat.

Today Coral has the coveted middle spot, and she looks pretty happy about it.

They spent most of our rainy weekend cuddling in the... What's that?

I saw that.

That's my peanut!

I'm supposed to get the treat for helping promote the human's on-line market with my Bath and Body Giveaway!

I'm the one that's eating for two!

Where's my peanut?

Love Hurts

I have to do another public service announcement: If you think love hurts, it's not supposed to.

We're staging an intervention for Pistol.

We've told her that when the buck loves you such that your ear is bloody and bruised, you really just need to walk away from the pen.

It doesn't matter how badly you're in heat.

Go stand by some other buck that isn't going to bite your ear like that.

Think about the example you're setting for your kids.

I hope she listens to us.

How to Stay Warm

It's starting to get cold here. There's frost in the mornings, and it isn't easy to stay warm. How do we goats stay warm?

Cuddle with your kids!

It works every time.

Of course, it works best with twins.

Deja Vu

Pistol looks like she's gotten her into a tight spot. The human went over to help get her head out of the fence.

She just pulled it out and greeted the human looking for treats. Lucky girl can still get her head through there and nibble at some green stuff.

I see now where Coral gets it from.

Getting Big

It's hard to believe how big some of the kids around here are getting. It seems like just yesterday that Pistol thought she was being attacked by aliens. Look at those little aliens now.

Mom seems to think they are pretty special now. I knew she'd be a good mom once she figured it out!
