He's Early

Old Man Winter seems to have come early this year.

I think we might try to butt him back into January where he belongs!  That is if we ever decide to leave the barn again.

A Serious Job

Minnie Pearl takes her job as herd queen quite seriously.

It's her job to keep an eye on everyone.  She leads us up from pasture when it's time.

She breaks up any fights between the girls.  She does take her job seriously.  I'm proud to call her my twin sister!

Basking in the Glory

Today was one of those days when you just wanted to stand around and bask in the glory of the herd queen.

Minnie is truly a very deserving herd queen.

Dreaming

I'm not really lying in the barnyard basking in the sun.  I'm just dreaming of basking.

Me
We're horribly muddy in the barnyard.  Yes, I know it makes the grass grow, but we still don't like mud.  We like basking.

Maisie
Muffin and daughter Jelly
If Minnie tried rubbing her face on the ground today (see the marks in the dirt), she'd be packed in mud.

Minnie Pearl

Why does rain have to make mud?

The human wanted Minnie to pose for a new picture since she's our herd queen.

Three Billy Goats Gruff (Part IV)

Minnie Pearl was standing on the bridge with the mean old nasty smelly troll ready to eat him for supper!  The troll took Minnie Pearl and tried to pull him off the bridge!

Minnie Pearl stood up to his full height and maaed, "How dare you!"

"You are mean and nasty and old and smelly.  How dare you eat us goats."

"We have family.  How would you like it if I ate your brother?" and Minnie Pearl promptly walked on across the bridge.

The troll looked thoughtful for a moment and then started to blubber and cry.  "I'm so sorry.  I'll never eat goat again.  In fact, I'm going to become a vegetarian."

Suddenly, all the other goats that had been secretly following the three brothers began to appear and see if it was really safe to come out.

Cutie Pie

Their whole world seemed brighter!

The troll was no longer mean and nasty and smelly.  He was still old though.

The goats and the happy rainbow haired troll got along great.

The troll thanked Minnie Pearl for helping him to see the error of his ways.

It was so nice on that side of the ditch that they could browse and eat and climb trees all day long.

They all lived happily ever after.

The End.

Three Billy Goats Gruff (Part III)

Myson had gone off to hurry Bud along, so he could get across the bridge to the other hill to eat.  He was hungry, like always.  As he got to the edge of the bridge, he saw the troll waiting to eat Bud.

Myson and Bud stepped onto the bridge and headed towards the troll.  Trip. Trap.  Trip. Trap.

"Who's that walking on my bridge?" called the troll.

"I brought my middle brother back, just like I promised," replied Myson.  The biggest billy goat, Minnie Pearl, was right behind.  He waited at the end of the bridge to see what was going to happen.

Myson said, "See I brought you my middle brother to eat."

The troll was very happy and forgot all about his plan to eat both Bud and Myson.

When Bud heard that he was going to be lunch for the troll, he said, "Really, you mean old nasty smelly troll, you don't want to eat me."  Myson, was curious as to what would happen, so he hung around.

"You see," said Bud, "our biggest brother, Minnie Pearl is just at the end of the bridge.  I think you should wait for him." Bud looked back to make sure that Minnie Pearl was still coming.

"Really, you should."  added Myson, and the two of them walked across the bridge.  When Minnie Pearl saw that Myson and Bud had made it across the bridge, he cautiously started across.

Trip. Trap.

Trip. Trap.

"Who's that walking on my bridge?" asked the mean old nasty smelly troll.

"It's Minnie Pearl, the biggest of three brothers off to eat on the hill across this bridge."

"Oh no you're not!  I'm going to eat you!"  snarled the troll.

You'll have to come back tomorrow for the exciting conclusion.
