Santa Goats

While the weather was nice over the weekend, the human got her mom to come and and TORTURE us! They kept talking about how cute it would be if "those goats" would cooperate. Look at Jetty.

Why should we cooperate taking a Santa goat picture for next year's calendar when she didn't even bring us peanuts. Dixie wanted no part of this at all.

They tried getting so many of the kids. Poor Flower about got strangled!

Does Sally look happy?

Poor Joe was taken by surprise, and she had no idea what was hanging on her head.

Who do you think made the cut for the calendar?

Where Are You?

Marley is a silly billy.

He is having a hard time seeing anyone.

There's an eye.

I think he needs a hair cut.

He just says, "Who, me? Dontcha like my do?"

"I'm so handsome!"

Happy Birthday to Me!

Happy birthday to me! Happy birthday dear Millie, Minnie, Cutie and Meg! Happy birthday to me!

Yep, it's my birthday, and I turned seven years old. All of us Saanens that came to Eden Hills as babies are having our birthday celebration this weekend.

Okay, we aren't a hundred percent sure when we were born, but we're very confident it is in the first week of February since the human brought us home on February 7th. Guess what the human brought us for our birthday.

Banana cake and peanuts. I don't know what she was thinking.

What could possibly make her think we'd like banana cake? She should have just filled the plate with peanuts.

It just made it hard for Minnie and me to get to those yummy peanuts.

Meg likes peanuts.

Cute likes peanuts.

We do not like banana cake. Okay, she did finally find someone to eat the cake,

but Pebbles is pregnant, so she has weird cravings.

Twins?

Hard to believe these two are twins, isn't it.

I do believe Flower (left) is outgrowing Bud (right). The only thing they have in common besides their parents is their very noisy mouths.

Groundhog Day

Happy Groundhog Day! According to Phil, spring is just around the corner, and that makes me really happy.

This isn't Phil, but we got to meet this groundhog a couple of summers ago. He wasn't having a very good day.

He was chased away from the human's house and into our barnyard by the dogs. Poor guy just sat there for the longest time. The human was taking his picture. The dogs kept barking. The geese were hissing.

Then some weird salesman guy came waltzing into the barnyard and found the human doing chores. She deftly led him back out. On the way, he noticed the poor groundhog cowering there, so the human explained about his bad day.

Just as she was explaining about the dogs, here they came. Hee hee. The salesman about panicked realizing he had just walked unattended through the yard with two big dogs.

Do I look ready for spring? I sure hope Phil is right.

In the Name of Fairness

In the name of fairness, the human said she had to give some peanuts to the goats up north. I wasn't too happy, but I guess she was right.

Dolly was the first to try them. My grandkid was such a lady about it.

You'll notice Marley was getting close. He liked the peanuts almost as much as me.

She thought Lily was going to climb the big metal thingy to get to her.

Jilly was also very appreciative of the treat.

She had been feeling neglected since she was put in with Marley and isn't getting her milking snack anymore.
Poor Sadie. She was sniffing a peanut, but the human couldn't protect her from Jilly.

Then Marley stole her peanut.

The human said Marley was about as bad as all the little kids out here that swarmed her. Maybe that means she won't take them any more peanuts, and I'll get more!
