We spend a lot of time in pasture right now.

We are browsing almost all day long.

Don't you think it's time for that human to start giving us some hay?

We're out there almost until the sun goes down.

We can't hardly eat enough!  Really, we need hay!  Please tell that human to feed us!

We've had some wonderful weather this weekend.  Clover took advantage of the sunshine and enjoyed some basking in the pool.

We've heard that not everyone is enjoying our good weather.  The human told me that there is a horrible storm out east.

We really hope all the goats and humans and even the geese and cranky llamas and every other creature stays safe.

The next day Charlie Brown and Linus are talking...

Well, another Halloween has come and gone.

Yes, Charlie Brown.

I don't understand it.  I went trick-or-treating and all I got was a bucket full of rocks!  I suppose you spent all night in the Pumpkin Patch.  And the Great Pumpkin never showed up.



Nope.

Well, don't take it too hard, Linus.  I've done a lot of stupid things in my life too.

STUPID?  WHAT'S DOES YOU'S MEANS STUPID?  Jus' waits 'til next years, Charlie Brown.  Just you's waits and sees, Charlie Brown.  The Great Pumpkin will appears and I'll be's waitin' for him!

In the pumpkin patch...


If anyone had tole me I'd be waiting in a pumpkin patch on Halloween night, I'd have said they were crazy.

Jus' thinks, Sally, when the Great Pumpkin rises outs of the pun'kin patch, we's be theres to see him!

What's that?  Me's hears the Great Pumpkin!

HE BE'S THERE!  HE BE'S THERE!  IT BE'S THE GREAT PUMPKIN!  HE BE'S RISING OUTS OF THE PUN'KIN PATCH!

Linus faints.

What's happened?  Did me's faint?  What's did he's leave us?  Did he's leaves us any toys?

I was robbed!  I spent the whole night waiting for the Great Pumpkin, when I could've been out for trick-or-treats!  Halloween is over and I missed it!  You Pointyhorn!  You kept me up all night waiting for the Great Pumpkin, and all that came was a giant beagle!

I didn't get a chance to go out for tricks-or-treats!  And it was all your fault!  I'll sue!  What a fool I was!  I could've had corn, apples and peanuts and all sorts of things!  But no!  I had to listen to you.  You pointyhorn!  What a fool I was.  Trick-or-treat come only once a year, and I missed it by sitting in a pumpkin patch with a pointyhorn!  YOU OWE ME RESTITUTION!

About that time, the rest of the peanuts gang arrived at the pumpkin patch.

"You's heard 'bouts fury in a woman scorned, hasn't yous?" asked Linus.

Charlie Brown

"Yes, I guess I have," answered Charlie Brown.

















Well that's nuttin' compared to the fury of a womans who be's cheated outs of tricks-or-treats.

Charlie Brown hurried off to catch up with everyone else.

Hey!  Aren't yous gonna waits and greets the Great Pumpkin?  Huh?  It won't be longerest nows?  If the Great Pumpkin comes, me's still puts in a good word for yous.

Good grief.  Me's said if!  Me's meant when he comes!  Me's doomed.  One little slips likes that can causes the Great Pumpkin to pass yous by.  Me be's sadderest and hangs me's head.  :-(

Finally, Halloween night has arrived!

You's guys go tricks or treatsing.  Me's waitin' for the Great Pumpkin.

Come on gang.  We can go get candy while he's sitting in the pumpkin patch waiting for something that doesn't exist!

It's so embarrassing to have to ask for something extra for that pointyhorn Linus.










Everyone announced what they got in their treat bags.

"I got some peanuts!" exclaimed Lucy.

"I got a bag of sweet feed!" said Marcie.

"I got a carrot!" shouted Peppermint Patty.

"I got a rock," lamented Charlie Brown.



Off they go to house after house.

Trick or treat!

Trick or treat! Give me something good to eat!

"I got an ear of corn!" shouted Marcie.

"I got some peanuts!" exclaimed Schroeder.

"Boy, I got some shelled corn!" said Peppermint Patty

"Hey, I got an apple!" shouted Lucy.

"I got a rock." said Charlie Brown.

"Here, Sir.  You can share some of mine," said Marcie.  "Doesn't seem right to get a rock when you're trick-or-treating."

It be's the time of year to writes to the Great Pumpkin.  On Halloween nights, the Great Pumpkin rises outs of his pun'kin patch and flies through the airs wif his bag of toys for alls the kids.

You must be crazy.  When are you going to stop believing in something that isn't true?

"When yous stop believin' in that fellow wif the reds suits and whites beard who goes, 'HO! HO! HO!'" retorted Linus.

"We are obviously separated by denominational differences," sighed Charlie Brown.

Not again!  Writing a letter to a stupid pumpkin!  You make me the laughingstock of the neighborhood!  All they talk about is my little brother who always writes to the Great Pumpkin.  You better cut it out right now or I'll butt you!

Ons Halloween nights, the 'Great Pumpkin' rises outs of the pun'kin patch, then flies throughs the air to brings toys to all the gooderest little kids everywheres!  Wouldn't you's like to sist wif me in the pun'kin patch on halloweens night and waits for the Great Pumpkin?
