Tracks

The human lets everyone out in the new big pasture except for us goats. I didn't understand why until she showed me some pictures. There are big scary monsters out in the pasture that have left their tracks by the ditch.

The little ones on the left are raccoons. The ones that look a lot like my prints really belong to deer. These alone are enough to make me grateful that the human has a nice safe barn for us.

This one is huge. It must belong to a giant monster. What could possibly be this big? Hmmm...

Not a Goat Treat

First, the human's blog (www.edenhills.blog.com) is back up and running. You'd think she wouldn't need me to relay a message for that, but I'm good. I'll do it for her. Maybe we'll get a treat out of it.

The magnolia tree would taste so good if we could just reach those flowers.

A Message From the Human & Goose Treat

A Message From the Human:
My human wanted me to pass on the information that she is working on getting her blog back up and running. While she can't blog, she's busy farming and actually working instead of spending all her time on the computer.

Goose Treat:
Me, I'm just lounging around and enjoying the beautiful weather. I would enjoy it more if I could just finish shedding this winter coat. It was positively steamy today. Even the kids were panting.

Those geese. There's just no figuring them out. The big white dog has enough taste not to eat soggy dog food. A dog--they eat poop like it's a treat. They won't eat soggy dog food, but those geese. When the human throws that gross soggy stuff out, they start honking and run as fast as they can and act like it's a great treat. I'll never understand them. I just don't understand why she doesn't give us something as a treat if she's giving the birds one.

Minnie the Kidsitter

Minnie Pearl is my twin sister. She's named after the country music singer Minnie Pearl. The singer always left the tags hanging on her hat, and my twin Minnie has wattles hanging from her neck. I'm sure it made sense to our human when she named us. This is Minnie and me in the barnyard.

Minnie loves kids. She is really nice to everybody's kid; that's just the way she is. She is not having any kids of her own this year because she is retiring. Sometimes, she likes to stay up in the barnyard by herself while everyone is down in pasture. Today that backfired. She was just trying to stay there for a little peace and quiet. Instead, she had six kids bouncing around her.

After putting up with their bouncy play for a while, she decided she would join the rest of us grown-up goats and get a break from the kids. Instead, she ended up taking six kids to pasture with her (Hee, hee).
Minnie is looking down the hill to see where we are at, or more specifically where the missing moms are. The kids are from left to right: Velvet and Fancy (Meg's), Rover and Red (Lily's), and Vinnie and Pistol (Dolly's). They aren't even her grandkids!

A Mother's Patience

My daughter and her girls, Sugar and Spice. All mothers will feed their daughters, but I think Pebbles has the patience of a saint.
Spice is a little bit ornery. She likes to use her mother as a jungle gym. Pebbles just lets her play.
Oops, mom is a bit slippery to stand on. She woke up twin sister, Sugar.
Sometimes, Spice even gets Sugar wound up.

But it only lasts a moment before Sugar is back to being Mom's sweet little girl and Spice is still pretending Mom is a trampoline.

She has found a good use for Mom's horn. It makes an awesome scratching post.

Even Spice has her moments. The whole family shares a snuggling time.

I think Pebbles gets her patience from her mother, me.

Statue

Look. A statue of Kizzy.

Oh the Joys

There used to be a big white tank sitting on these two concrete blocks. After our human took it out, there was this funny thing sticking up. I tried playing my horns on it, but it was too floppy.
I gave it a good sniff. It didn't smell like it would taste good.
It works well for scratching my face. Kizzy was really checking out what I was doing.
Hmm. Maybe I can pry this stinking cast off my horn with it.
No such luck, but it works awesome for scratching.
It can even go where I can't reach. Oh, yeah. That's the spot.
I can even get back here by my collar. What a great scratcher.
Kizzy is a copy cat!
