Scarlet's Slimy Triplets

Guess what I came up from pasture and found.

Yep. Scarlet had her babies.

There are two girls and a boy.

In the picture below, the boy is in front and the two girls are to the back.

Hopefully, my blog photographer can take some pictures tomorrow when they aren't so slimy.

I say Muffin is next.

What do you think? Two or three?

Spoiling Me

I was feeling a bit frumpy. The human's mom noticed that I needed a good brushing.

She treats me so good.

She knows just how to get the loose hair out.

She even gets under the collar.

She knows I love to have my face brushed.

What's going on here?

I guess I can't blame Opal for wanting to be brushed.

It feels sooooo good!

Then the human gave me a pedicure.

If only I could have topped it off with a peanut!

Trading Babies

This morning, the human came out to the barnyard and got the little gosling and took him away. She said she was taking the baby to his forever farm with her sister.

When she came home, she brought back the two kids, Hickory and Chuck.

I think they'll be happy to be at home with their siblings and everyone else.

I think they'll be happy to play in the pasture too.

Special Jay

We have a very special blue jay living here. If we're not careful, the human will have it named before long. The little bird has an injured wing.

It can't fly. That only slows it down a little bit. It goes all the way to the ground and back up into the top of the magnolia tree by little hops.

It wraps those toes around the fence. It jumps down to the post and walks across the well house.

Then it's another short hop up into the magnolia tree.

The little bird gets around in the tree the same way.

Jay (oops, did I just name the bird?) has been around here injured like this for about three weeks. We just hope Jay is able to avoid this...

I'm joining Farmgirl Friday with Deborah Jean's Dandelion House.

This is what things looked like a couple of days ago.Since then, we've had a couple more inches of rain.

There is mud everywhere! Yuck!

Danger Under the Full Moon

During the last full moon, we had a horrible scare.

We were all watching in fear.

Kizzy was snorting a warning that she would defend her kids...to the death if need be.

What did we see? The dreaded chupacabra! (You can click on a picture to make it bigger if you're brave enough.)

Look at those evil glowing eyes!

And where was our guard llama? Off standing away from all the action.

I was hiding behind the human.

Run! Hide from that goat sucker.

I suggested we feed that little fat Opalumpa goat to them, but the human wouldn't let me.

I hope we're safe again for now.

I want to know when. When are we going to get to go into the big pasture?

Look at all that grass!

It's so tall, and we all deserve to be over there.

When or when will we get that great tall grass?

All that playing when there's so much grass to eat?

I'd never quit eating!

A Surprise Baby

The human was setting food pans down for us to eat from tonight when she was startled. She almost set the pan on a baby!

She wasn't sure any of the goose eggs were going to hatch. She was just telling her sister yesterday that the silly geese were fighting over the eggs and had moved them to a new nest.

She figured if they did hatch, the goslings would be all confused as to which way was up after being rolled around. So far there is only one baby. We'll have to see how many more honkers hatch!
The human will take care of it (or them) until they go off to their own forever farm with the human's sister!
