Just Some Pictures

We had such a beautiful day today. It was a perfect fall day. Maggie still likes to lounge up here on top of the hut. Bambi and I like to lay under it.
Of course, I later decided it was time to play my horns. The door is such a nice place to lounge around and tap out a tune.
Heather is such a cute little lady. Scarlet does care for her daughter, but I must say, a really good mom would still be letting her kid eat corn with her instead of barking to get away.
I wish every day could be as beautiful as today!

Who's a Brown-Noser?

Pam is.

This is what happens when it rains and we make piggies of ourselves eating away at our lick tub.

It looks like she got a lot to snack on.

What!

The human put a wonderful livestock waterer in the barnyard for us goats. Look who was drinking from it.

Not just drinking, but bathing!

What should we do?

Well, at least they aren't sitting in it.

Another Award

I am a prolific blogger! I blog a lot. It's easy for me because I have the human to bring me food and scratch between my ears since I have retired from being a milking nanny. I get to spend my days playing my horns and chewing my cud and ruminating on topics to write about.

The rules of this award are as follows:

1. Thank the person who gave you the award and add a link back to their blog. Thank you, thank you, thank you to Rox at The Natural Catholic. I so love this blog--she always writes about her garden and herbs and mothering. Those are all things I love.

2. Link to the Hazra of Advanced Booking. She is the one who created this award way back in November, 2009.

3. Visit Hazra and add your blog to the Linky there. That way there is a complete list of all who recieve her award.

4. Pass this on to 7 or more people you feel deserve the award.

*Pam from Life on a Southern Farm

*Tayet and Lilyan at In a Goat's Shoes

*Callie at Chickens on the Porch

*My Human at Eden Hills

I hope that is enough people to pass it on to. I'm not good with this, so I'll give it to the human and she can take care of it. She usually makes me send them to people she likes anyhow.

Girls Fight Night

Dana seems to like to fight. First she picked a fight with Heather.

That didn't go to well.

Finally, Heather put her in a headlock, and Dana called, "Uncle!"

Then she moved on to Bambi.

This was a lot closer fight.

Nobody won, and there might be a rematch!

Dana might need to go sit in a corner and take a time out.

An Award

Look at this! I'm such a lucky goat. I've won an award.

This comes to me from Lilyan and Tayet at Lucky13GoatRanch.

The rules of the award:

1. Accept the award. Post it on your blog with the name of the person who has granted the award and his or her blog link.

2. Pay it forward to 15 other bloggers that you have newly discovered.

3. Contact those blog owners and let them know they’ve been chosen.

I'm not sure I know of fifteen blogs that I've newly discovered. Here it goes:

*Joyce Ann at Feather Spirits~She has goats and grows lots of yummy looking things in her garden.
*Callie at Chickens on the Porch~No goats, but she really spoils her chickens so she is good stuff.
*Sharon at Life with Jack and Jill~I'm sure she'd have goats if she could. She does have a couple of really cute dogs, and she makes my human laugh.
*Amanda at Lessons in Farming~My human made me add Amanda because she has a great blog, something about nice and chickens whatever. (Who's award is this anyhow?)
*Lucky Nickel and Claire at Whispering Acres~We all love Lucky Nickel and her lady, even though she seems to think aliens have invaded.
*Michelle and her goaties at Goat Berries~Michelle has beautiful Italian goats, and we think that is very romantic.
*Tracy at Journey to Casimir~We're so excited to hear all about Tracy's life as she moves to her own farm. We want to hear all about it!
*Pricilla at The Maaaaa of Pricilla~Pricilla is another very wise goat, like me. She has a nice publicist that feeds her lots of good things (and that makes me jealous).

Is that fifteen? I've run out of hooves, so I hope that is fifteen.

Big Red

After the big fuss the human made of the naughty boys getting out, she turned around and did some mixing and matching. Jack had Meg and Betty Lou join him.

Marley got Penny, Sallie and Annie. She said it was sweet revenge to put Annie in there. Last year, Annie tormented Marley so much that he couldn't even do his job.

Then she put Lily's little boy up north with Stormy and Litha. The human's boy thought Red looked awfully small next to those girls.

Red has decided he likes his job. He just wishes that silly red gate would disappear.

Angel is a beautiful girl his seems to think.

The human says we're going to have spring break babies!

Brain Surgery

The human tried to make Bud smarter. She couldn't do it.

After several phone calls to the vet and a visit with the vet, Bud is getting smarter. The vet banded him to keep the blood flow to his brain instead of wasting it other places.

Corn

The human took some of this

and gave to them.

My mouth isn't that big!

I want mine off the cob please!

Cattle Tank

Do you remember me saying I really missed that old concrete cattle tank because we don't like those geese playing in the buckets of water the human brings us?

Do you remember me complaining that she fenced off our lovely little passage to pasture and put some weird big rock there?

Well, look what we have here...

Velvet is happy to show you this brand new cattle tank.
Vinnie likes it too. Heck, we all think it's pretty nice.

Who wouldn't love this?

The Earth is Moving!

We went out to pasture tonight like we do every evening, but it was so different! We found a huge pile of trees.

Pebbles had to climb all the way to the top to find anything green.

The ox thought that one looked like a good place to scratch his face.

Then we saw this.

The ditch was gone. Just gone! We couldn't believe our eyes.

That naughty little bull got wound up and chased us when he saw all the weird stuff that had happened back here.

That did not make us happy, but he finally left us alone.

We looked and looked and finally found the ditch.

Look at this. No grass and no ditch!
That black space used to be ditch. Now, we can just walk across it.

Bad Boys

When the human came out the other morning, she was not happy with the medium and little boys. Look what they did: Beau, Flash, Red, Rover, Mo, and Peanut all got out.

Flash tried to play all innocent. He just looked at the human and said, "What, I'm not doing anything."

Not these two. They had already staked their claim on pretty Miss Kizzy.

These two girls were also feeling the stirrings of love hormones. The human went, "Whatever" about Pam, but she was not happy about Pistol. With Pistol's naughty behaviors beginning at the age of two days, she blames Pistol for teasing the boys into coming out.

Mo was really naughty. He wouldn't even let the human catch him. He would just stand there and say, "What? I'm just standing here minding my own business."

Captured! The human put the boys in this little bitty pen until she could work on the gate where they had escaped.
It doesn't look like they are too miserable.

Peanut seems to be practicing for the circus now. The human says we'll have to see if those naughty boys are going to be daddies.

Goose Butt

Goose butt! Is it any wonder our water tastes like goose butt?

The human was worried that the goose was stuck in here. She's all cooing and asking the goose if she's okay.

Her head is gone! Did something bad happen to her?

I can't believe she was taking a bath in our bucket of water.

I miss that big cattle tank. The geese would play in it, but they didn't take a whole bath in there.

After a few minutes, she just lurched forward.

Then she was out on the ground.
